Prayer Lock: Block Distracting Apps Until You Pray
Prayer Lock is a Christian phone focus feature built into Reverence. It uses Apple's Screen Time framework to lock the apps that pull you in — TikTok, Instagram, X, YouTube — behind a short prayer. Open a locked app during your chosen times and iPhone shows a Pause and Pray screen until you actually pray.
It's not a punishment and it's not a wall. Emergency unlock is always available. Prayer Lock exists to reintroduce a small pause between the impulse and the scroll, so more of your day is spent with God than with the algorithm.
You choose the apps and the times
Pick any apps installed on your iPhone — social feeds, news, games, whatever you keep opening without meaning to. Then set the windows when they should be locked: mornings before work, evenings after 9pm, all day Sunday. Prayer Lock respects your rhythm.
Pause and Pray
When a locked app is opened, iOS shows a full-screen Pause and Pray prompt. Pray silently, read a short guided prayer, or write one of your own. Once the prayer is done, the app opens normally.
Emergency unlock, always
Real life happens. If you genuinely need the app right now, one tap opens it. Prayer Lock tracks it honestly so you can see later whether it was really an emergency or a habit.
Streaks that reward the practice, not the punishment
Reverence keeps a private streak of the days you honored your lock times. No shaming, no red numbers — just quiet encouragement to keep the pattern.
